ULTIMATE BASE

This is the definitive base training program.  I suggest that you do at a month of easy riding or cross training before starting this plan.  Base is the most important part of any training program.

Think of it as building a home.  Without a proper foundation, the house will sink into the earth.  A good base program will allow you to survive an entire season of racing or hard group rides with very little training (of course you want to do more than just survive!)

Ultimate Base will improve strength, aerobic fitness, muscular endurance, leg speed and your ability to store glycogen.  After you finish, two months of build will take your speed and power through the roof. 

I suggest transitioning directly to one of our Peak Performance plans.

PEAK PERFORMANCE

This is the program that is going to make you fast!  These plans are designed for riders who already have a solid endurance base. 

This program will develop strength, endurance, threshold power, VO2 max and leg speed.  By the end of each cycle you will be amply exhausted but during your recovery week your body will grow stronger and you will carry all that fitness into the next phase. 

Each cycle builds on the last until you get to the final two week PEAK period where you will reach a zenith of speed and power and achieve a peak that should last at least a month. 

On this program you may be racing or doing group rides on the weekends so it is specifically adjusted for the possibility that you might replace a weekend workout with a race.  If you stick to this schedule I guarantee that you will see major improvements in your speed and power.
